Snow day

We almost made it through an entire winter with nothing significant in the way of snowfall.  Until Sunday, that is.  John and the boys were finishing up their "spring" break from school and ended up getting an extra day out of it when school was cancelled on Monday.  I think the total accumulation was somewhere around a foot and it came fast and furious!  We even had the peculiar phenomenon known as "thundersnow."  It was weird to hear thunder and see giant snowflakes falling from the sky at the same time.

We had a bit of snow earlier in the season, but not enough to warrant pulling out the snowpants and snowboots.  This time, though, was a different story.  After naps on Sunday, we bundled the girls up and headed out into the winter wonderland.

This picture makes me think of Ralphie's brother, Randy, in A Christmas Story

Ready for some fun!

The sleds have not been out of the shed in a LONG time.

Going for a ride

Hold on tight!

Sena's hair cracks me up in this picture

That is our house way down at the end of the street

Sena taking Addie for a ride

In true boy fashion - snow wrestling!

Nothing like rolling around in the snow...

Sena, as it turns out, is a HUGE fan of the white stuff and she did not want to come in.  Addie - not so much.  That could have something to do with the fact that she has issues keeping her gloves on and her little hands were freezing.

I love a good snowstorm on occasion, but I am pretty much done with winter at this point and it just needs to hurry up and melt. Bring on the sunshine and warmer temperatures!!
