She is Daddy's girl!
It is a little tricky trying to give Daddy a kiss lately. Here she is trying to protect herself from the goatee!
After worrying for months about what we were going to do for childcare this fall, the answer was literally right in front of us. My parents live right down the street. You can see their house from our front porch. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, my Dad arrives at our house around 7:30am so John can get the boys to school before he has to be at school. Sena and Gramps putz around the house for a bit and then head down to Gramps and Grammy's house for Gramps' first breakfast and Sena's second breakfast. According to my mom, it is rather sweet to watch the two of them on their barstools eating together. As is her custom, Sena would much rather eat the food in front of Gramps than the food in front of her. She pulls this same stunt with Daddy. What is it with these men and their soft spots for little girls? Sena has my Dad right where she wants him - he does whatever she says (while she is learning new words all the time, her vocabulary isn't huge, but she has NO problem getting her point across). I'm pretty sure there was another little girl back in the day who found herself with the very same ability to get her way...
After enjoying her second breakfast, Sena and Gramps take the dog for walks, they play on the swingset, they water flowers, they hunt for bugs... The girl has it MADE! Today when I arrived home, here is what I found:
She is "fixing" our lawn mower.
First she tried the Allen wrench...
When that didn't work, she moved on to a screwdriver.
She is a very busy girl with important jobs to do! Notice her outfit in these pictures. She must have been cold, so they went in search of more clothes besides the tshirt and capri pants she had on. She picked out some gray socks to add to her ensemble which really made her capris look like highwaters. Awesome. Then, she chose a flower for her hair that was a lovely shade of blue. The icing on the cake is that she is wearing her swim shoes. I asked Gramps about her getup and he said that she picked them herself. And of course he went right along with it!

lol! what a cutie!!! actually, my girl's outfits can turn into a mish-mosh rather quickly as they add and subtract based on weather and activity.
