Next week will begin a whole new adventure for our family. Jack and Ethan will both be in middle school together. Help me, Lord! Ethan will have the privilege of having his dad for social studies teacher, too. Isaac will be in third grade and my sweet baby Sena is going to PRESCHOOL! We went to check out her classroom today and she seemed to think it was rather neat. I hope that she thinks the same next week. My dad will be on Addie duty and that might be interesting.
Addie. Oh Addie. She is such a joy. I really mean that - she makes us laugh. A lot. She is charming and easily wins people over with her big smile and sunny personality. She makes silly faces and giggles quite often. She is trying SO hard to talk and she really gets her mouth into the action when she is trying to say a word. She studies our mouths as we say something and then tries to replicate it. She has been using some words for a while, but new ones are showing up regularly. Yesterday, she patted her bottom and said, "poop!" That was a new one and was quite accurate at the time, too.
But...there is another side to our sweet girl. Lately, we have jokingly been referring to her as "Adam" when the naughty stuff shows up. Our friends' son calls her that for some reason and it has kind of stuck. She climbs on anything and everything. Fortunately, she still has rather short legs. When she is taller and can reach more, we are going to be in trouble. She is also amazingly quick and agile. We pretty much can't let her out of our sight. If she disappears into another room, mischief usually follows. When she hears us calling after her, little footsteps are usually heard running away from whatever she was up to. Stinker. Like her sister, she also likes to climb on top of the counter in the kitchen. Unlike her sister, she stands and then proceeds to walk - and would walk straight off the counter if we weren't there to scoop her up. She puts all kinds of things in her mouth. In spite of the fact that we have "babyproofed" the house twice in the last four months, small things still seem to show up and she seems to have a radar for such items. We were at a park a couple of weeks ago and she laid on the ground and proceeded to lick the mulch. She also may have tried to eat a cigarette butt. Ewww. I keep thinking that one of these days, she will become less busy. Right? In the meantime, we are on high alert with this wild lady. In the midst of the wildness, though, she is super sweet and cuddly and I am enjoying snuggle time whenever I can. Life is never boring with little Miss Addie around!
Addie is not a thumb sucker - maybe her sister is giving her ideas...

I love this picture of Sena and Sahara
They have come a long way - literally and figuratively - in 18 months!!

I hate to burst your bubble, but our Lucy is 5 and she is still the busiest child we've had, out of 7! I often say, "Jesus, what were you thinking when you gave me my busiest child at my oldest age!"...... :o)
