A Ray of Sunshine

Today was a rough day - nothing new there. However, there was a bright spot in my inbox this afternoon...

Oh how I love this girl! And I love how she loves her thumb! I cannot wait to wrap my arms around her sweet little self again.

April 19, 2012 - Embassy appointment
April 11, 2012 - CLEARED case
April 10, 2012 - Birth relative interview at Embassy
March 20, 2012 - File submitted to US Embassy
January 31, 2012 - Court date in Ethiopia - WE PASSED!!!
January 19, 2012 - Court date assigned
December 8, 2011 - File submitted to court
November 21, 2011 - REFERRAL
November 12, 2011 - I171H arrives. It was mailed out on November 9.
November 8, 2011 - Fingerprinting appointment
October 15, 2011 - Receive fingerprint appointment for November 8
September 30, 2011 - I600a to USCIS
September 26, 2011 - Home study approved by DCFS
September 13, 2011 - Home study update meeting

Sena's adoption timeline

September 3, 2011 - Received Sena's new birth certificate in the mail.
August 3, 2011 - Readoption in Illinois.
February 3, 2011 - John and Sena arrive at O'Hare. It is FAMILY DAY. We are together at last!!
February 2, 2011 - John and Sena land in Washington D.C. Sena is a citizen!!
January 25, 2011 - Jen returns from Ethiopia alone.
January 15, 2011 - Depart for Ethiopia and hope for an embassy appointment.
January 4, 2011 - Tentative embassy date. Tentative is right - it was a no go.
November 11, 2010 - 2nd Court Hearing - WE PASSED!
October 27, 2010 - Court Date
June 14, 2010 - REFERRAL!!!!!
March 18, 2010 - Dossier to Ethiopia!
March 12, 2010 - Dossier is sent for authentication
March 12, 2010 - I171H arrives in the mail
February 8, 2010 - Home study sent to USCIS
January 14, 2010 - Home study sent to DCFS for approval
January 12, 2010 - Home study approved by our agency
December 18, 2009 - Received rough draft of our home study
November 30, 2009 - Biometric fingerprint appointment in Indianapolis
October 24, 2009 - Received passports
October 12, 2009 - Fingerprinting in Champaign
October 6, 2009 - Sent I600A to USCIS
October 5, 2009 - Apply for passports
October 2, 2009 - Second home study visit
September 29, 2009 - All day training in Bloomington
September 22, 2009 - Attend initial training for International Adoption
September 16, 2009 - Our first home study visit
August 7, 2009 - CHI accepts application and sends us a multitude of documents and instructions for dossier
August 3, 2009 - Mailed applications to ICM for home study and CHI as adoption agency
July 2009 - decided to pursue adoption through Ethiopia
